- Do I have the latest version of TradeTek on my computer?
- The TradeTek Software website and TradeTek Store within the application always has the
latest version of each application edition, Bundle or Plugin. When possible, always use
the newest build for the best experience.
To check if a software update is available, navigate to the Help tab within TradeTek
and select ‘Check for Update’ button located in the General button group.
If an update is available and you are eligible for updates and upgrades, simply download
and install the newest version.

- Can I download and install the latest TradeTek Update?
- TradeTek is dynamic, growing software that periodically releases new bug fixes, minor and
major enhancements.
For a Subscription edition, users can download and install the latest build or
any older build.
For a Lifetime edition, users can download any build released on or before your updates expiration date.
A new Lifetime edition purchase includes 3 months of updates and upgrade.
If you have a Lifetime edition, the purchased build can be used forever on any compatible computer.
Lifetime license users can optionally purchase the TradeTek Updates.
Go to the Downloads page on the website, click the Archived Version of TradeTek link and click the Buy link.
- TradeTek Updates for my Lifetime license has expired.
How can I download TradeTek to a different computer?
- Locate the Archives section of the Help tab within TradeTek on your existing computer.
Download the older TradeTek installer and copy it to the new computer.
Locate and follow the instructions on how to Release the license on your old computer.
Now install and activate the same version of TradeTek on the new computer.
To use the latest version, you can optionally purchase TradeTek Updates from the Archives page.

- How can I check my TradeTek Updates expiration?
- From the Help tab, click the "Check for Updates" button located in the General button group.
TradeTek compares the Version you are running with the newest Version available to indicate
if a newer Version exists.
If you have a Lifetime edition, it also retrieves and displays the expiration date of your TradeTek Updates.
- What is the difference between the TradeTek Version and Build?
- The About TradeTek dialog displays both the Version and Build numbers.
The Version number (1.0, 1.1, 1.2, etc.) is an easy way to communicate the major features
available in TradeTek. To share files with another TradeTek user, both team members must
have the same or newer Version number installed.
Each new release of TradeTek is given a build date of the form YYYYMMDD.
A newer build may contain bug fixes, cosmetic changes, new videos or minor enhancements
without changing the Version number.
- I downloaded and installed TradeTek. When I launch TradeTek, why does it say
“This TradeTek build could not be authenticated”?
- "This TradeTek build could not be authenticated” means you have downloaded a newer Build of
TradeTek that is not included with your current TradeTek updates service period.
Locate and install the original version of TradeTek that you purchased.
Users can find older versions of TradeTek can be downloaded from the Archives page located
in the Help tab in TradeTek.
If you no longer have TradeTek installed on any computer where you can access the Archives
page, contact TradeTek Customer Service to request the older version download link.

Do all team members need to run the same version of TradeTek?
- Yes, everyone on your team should use the same version of TradeTek.
A specific version like 1.2 may have several builds over time to fix bugs or add features.
Team members can use different builds, but it is best if everyone has the same features.
Within TradeTek a user can export and import many files (Assembly Tabs, Lists, Reports, Jobs).
Exported files can be imported into the same or newer build of TradeTek.
To share files between users, everyone on your team should use the same version of TradeTek.
